Olivia Chacón brings a group of talented local and invited flamenco artists back to Ruta Maya for a sexy and sophisticated summertime show. Last summer’s “Flamenco: Truth and Beauty” packed the house for the captivating sights and sounds of top-caliber flamenco, and this year’s production promises to improve upon last year’s success. “Flamenco Women” capitalizes on the talent and charisma of some of the region’s top flamenco artists: Singer Chayito Champion, invited dancers Genoveva and Jackie “La Morena” Rodriguez, Olivia Chacón, and members of the group “Jaleo Flamenco” will demonstrate that women can dominate as well as any matador. Power, grace, virtuoso rhythms and sultry sizzle will be on display when these ladies take the stage, solo or together. They are backed by a group led by the masterful Isai Chacón of Durango, Mexico, on guitar. Tickets are $12 at the door; show time is 8:30pm.
